DCSF Early Learning Campaign – Asian Community

BACKGROUND:

Research has shown that young children benefit from formal childcare, by helping them develop social skills. With the aid of formal childcare, parents can go back to work, thus break the cycle of poverty.

Working tax credit and Free Early Education offer are elements that support non-working/low income parents in taking up formal childcare.

 KEY OBJECTIVES:

The primary objective is to increase take-up of the ‘Free early education’ offer for 3 and 4 year olds amongst Pakistani and Bangladeshi parents.

The secondary objective is to raise awareness of the quality and safety of childcare and the services available through children’s centres and extended schools.
