Advertising Week Europe second annual event proved a great success and a much needed fresh thinking to an industry that has been searching for a new identity and a way forward amid a global economic slowdown and a sluggish growth forecast in UK and Europe.

An impressive list of technologist, content creators, agency and media buyers and the digital pioneers such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Microsoft were amongst some of the speakers and promoters of this great format.

One of the topics that kept coming up is Programmatic and where technology meets creativity and the ability of technology to create and serve personalised messages for individuals based on big data and behavioural patterns. Somehow I do not think that technology is going to address this perfectly and consumers will still be alienated by some of this generic and pervasive technique.

Mobile advertising came up again and the fact that according to Neilson research hat although we look at our mobile phone 150 times a day, advertising is still been seen as an interruption.

The event is a must attend event for those looking for inspiration, insight as well as people looking for a break into the creative industry.
