Why are people still using the Race Card?

Stars and celebrities keep using the race card when it suits them and often when they fall out of the public eye. The recent claim by Sol Campbell accusing the FA of being institutionally racist and accusing Tottenham players of spreading rumours about his sexuality can be seen as a cynical ploy by Sol and his publishers to promote his book which is not selling that well.

Similar accusation of racism against a black police officer also surfaced this week about racism against the Met Police Diplomatic Protection Group. It is important to remember that some of issues may be related to performance of staff and not race.

Players and employees of ethnic background should focus more on their professionalism and expertise rather than the colour of their skin as a soft way to put pressure on employers and companies. We need to grow up and look beyond colour and gender and more on performance and work ethics.

Despite all the accusations, which are and will continue to be made, the UK still remains the most diverse country and companies on the whole are welcoming and more tolerant of diverse workforce than any other country I visited around the world.
